18 weeks and an adoring big sister

Rose and I waiting at Grey's speech appointment yesterday.

Grey adoring her sister.  That never changes or diminishes with time.  She truly loves Rose so much.

Rose had to sit on the other side of the waiting room.  She was "too cool" for us.

Little mommy.

Never-ending joy.

17 weeks and 4 MONTHS (& well check)

Two blogs in one night means I am just lumping together and not writing much.  I hope that I will love these blogs for future reference one day, and I hope at that time that I will give myself grace at for not being detailed.  For now I am really attempting to balance the important things vs. the unnecessary things in my life, and I know blogging falls under "extra".

Rose is so fun at this age.  She turned 17 weeks old on Monday and 4 months old yesterday.  We had her well visit today.

Rose's 4 Month Well-Check Stats:
  • 24.8" long - 75%
  • 12 lbs. 12 oz. - 40%
  • 16.2" head - 75%
Big, healthy girl!  Love it!

Rose's Milestones lately:
  • Loves to look at and talk to the baby in the mirror ;)
  • Wears size 2 diapers
  • Wears 6 month clothing (and a few 9 month pieces for length)!
  • Almost rolling over (I believe less than a week away)!
  • Babbles constantly, and especially in the car - makes car rides ten times more fun!
  • Can pull her toes to her mouth -yuck- but cute too at the same time. Said by her mom, clearly.
  • Sleeps through the night, from about 8 or 9pm-5am.  I said it.  I have been afraid to jinx us, but my oh my is this the BEST.
  • Holds her toys and pulls things towards her
  • Eats every 2 hours, about 4+ ounces at a time
According to the sheet from her doctor, Rose is EXACTLY where she should be on every single milestone.  It is crazy to have a baby who is so "normal".  We are going to introduce oatmeal cereal this weekend.  I cannot believe we are already at "solids".  Her babyhood is flying by. :(

A friend sent me this today.  Thank you, my Savior:

Resurrection Sunday/Easter 2014 - Rose's first!

We had a beautifully special Easter and Resurrection Sunday with our two girls this year.  I believe there is a big difference between Easter and Resurrection Sunday.  To me, Easter is what we humans make of the holiday (eggs, bunnies and everything other than Christ).  Resurrection Sunday is the REAL reason for this time of year.

Saturday (Easter) was spent with Chet's family in Colorado City, where Grey was obsessed with hunting eggs this year.

Resurrection Sunday was spent as a family here in Lubbock.  We attended the service at the church we are finally calling our "home", Hillside Christian Church.  It was such a blessing.  Thank you Jesus for paying the highest price.

Here are a few moments we captured:
Baby girl's first Easter.  She is the sweetest, happiest little person, and did amazing with traveling to and from CCity.

Grey was thrilled to find eggs and eat the goods inside at Ahma and Big R's in Colorado City!
I cannot handle how grown up she is these days!
I also happen to love these dresses from Auntie Charys oh so much.

Probably our Christmas card photo this year.  Selfie of the year from the Erwins, complete with a duck face from Grey.  You're welcome.

And then the posed pics.  They were all a DISASTER.
[So much so that we have practiced ever since with Grey (whole week) to prepare for TOMORROW's professional photo shoot!]

We snapped some before church on Resurrection Sunday:

15 precious weeks old

Our precious girl is now 15 weeks old.  It seems like time passes quicker and quicker, even if it seems impossible to fly by any faster.  Chet told me this weekend that Rose's infant stage is going by way too fast.  I agree.  Two kids sure changes things.  I have a constant to do list I never can catch up to.  I still have things to do to complete Rose's nursery and Grey's "big girl room".  Either time or money or both seem to get the best of me on these projects.  Thankfully the girls will only remember the TIME we spent with them, and not the things and money we spent on them.

Rose has some milestones this week!:
  • She is now wearing size 2 diapers!
  • She is seriously so close to rolling over it is crazy.  She has "accidentally" rolled on soft blankets on the bed, but I think the blankets assisted her a bit.
  • She is breaking into 6-9 month clothes.  I don't even want to type it.
  • She wakes up talking every morning lately.  It's the cutest thing.  Maybe ever.
The weather is warming up, so we are looking forward to lots of outdoor activities in the near future.  The girls and I will be planting flowers soon, and Chet has some backyard plans in the works.

Grey goes in for her new speech evaluation tomorrow morning.  We prayerfully decided we need to be back in speech.  She just hasn't been able to catch up, and does well with her wonderful speech therapists.  I am praying this year has big things in store for our big girl.  She struggles emotionally when she is unable to communicate with us, which breaks our hearts.

I fly to St. Louis Thursday-Sunday for a Nerium convention.  Daddy will be on daddy duty...eek! :)  I know they'll have so much fun, even if I am going to be in tears every day missing them so much.

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

14

This week has given me no time to blog!  I'll make it short and sweet. :)

Rose is growing like a weed, and we even bought a box of size 2 diapers to try next!!  She is making many different babbling sounds lately, and sadly is teething more and more.  She is awake nearly all day, but only waking up maybe 2 times a night!  (Often just once now!)

"TWO!"

I had to include these two photos of Grey from today.  She is next to her birthday tree.  It is determined and strong like her!  It survived a move in the dead of summer, a horrific winter and is growing beautifully.  I love it! :)
