7 Months Old!!





Our little nugget of snuggles is already 7 months old.  It's mind-blowing, actually. 
I am once again blogging on Friday night.  Thank God for husbands helping around the home...Friday evenings are such a great thing to look forward to. :)

At 7 Months, Rose:
  • Can sit up in the bathtub.  She loves her nightly baths and splashes for as long as we will let her be pruned. 
  • Puts everything in her mouth!  Nothing is safe! 
  • Loves bananas!  If you have a banana in your hand, be prepared to have her leap for it. 
  • Loves to try new foods.  
  • Has three teeth coming in! (Two already exist!)  Teething has been rough to say the least.  We never knew a baby could be so sad after being SO happy all the time.  It's awful. :(
  • Is rocking back and forth on her hands and knees.  Crawling has evaded us, but she is SO close.
  • Is wearing 12 month clothes.  Yep! She's such a big, happy girl. :)
I feel like July has been one of the craziest months for our family...but I know I say that a lot.  This time I really mean it.  We are blessed amidst everything going on.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6

FIRST TOOTH at 29 weeks! :)




Precious Rose Catherine got her first tooth this past Friday!  She had the worst night EVER Thursday/Friday (we seriously almost went to the ER...it was like an exorcism of screaming the entire night), so I KNEW her tooth would finally be popping through.  Yep.  I guess easy-going, perfect babies teeth hard.  Poor girl.  We are so happy for her though, as it seems like she's been teething for months.

I traveled to Ruidoso this weekend for a Nerium Market Party, so today has been a doozy catching up.  Glad I got a quick chance to blog though. :)  Thank God for a husband who is home at night!

 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. 2 year and 6 month WELL CHECKS (and Rose at 28 weeks)

Both girls had their well checks yesterday.  They are both super healthy and growing perfectly. 

Grey's 2 year stats:
34.5" height - 60%
25 lbs. - 25%
18.2" inch head - 25%

We were SHOCKED to see our "little Bop" is actually on the TALL SIDE for the first time ever.  WOW!!   Her speech has improved hugely, and she's saying many words.  She is also potty trained with tee-tee, and is working on poo-poo (we are going to not push the matter, as she just isn't quite ready for that yet).  She is so helpful around the house; she does dishes, makes her bed, puts away laundry, etc.  Not bad for a 2 year old!  She also can clean up better than Daddy. lol  Even though this age is filled with STUBBORNNESS, "do it myself" for every task and extra defiance, I am absolutely loving watching her sweetness and great personality shine through as well.  She is honestly the best big sister ever and cares SO much for her "Baby Robits" (her own nickname for Rose).  Grey knows most letters of the alphabet, most colors, several shapes and can even draw several letters (G, M, D, O).  Her brain never quits and she is constantly searching for a new puzzle to master and task to learn.  So many things have changed with Grey - she is even the greatest sleeper as a toddler (woooohoooooo)!  She will sleep from 8-6 many nights, and even sleeps through a crying little sister.  She's never short on personality with facial expressions and mimics anything anyone does or says.  What a joy she is.

Rose's 6 month stats:
25.8" height - 60%
16 lbs. 3 oz. - 50%
17" head - 75%

Rose is super healthy and continues to be our little light.  She is eating baby food like a pro, and reaching for anything we eat.  She loves to get sips of ice water from sister's sippy cups (germs much?), and wants to be involved in everything Grey is doing.  She doesn't let anything get her down for more than a few fusses - truly the happiest person I have ever known.  She is trying to scoot with such determination that I laugh.  She sticks her tongue out and is incredibly fixated and jibbers to whatever she wants to scoot to.  Right now she rolls to get to whatever she wants, but I think scooting/crawling is coming up soon.  She still doesn't have a single tooth poking through, though we continue to drool and chew on everything.  Bless her heart.  These teeth need to make their way SOON.  Rose naps twice a day, for about 45 minutes each time.  She refuses to fall asleep outside of our arms.  I love her snuggly little self ohhh soooo much.

The summer with these two gifts has been amazing.  We spend hours outside enjoying the water table, taking walks, creating chalk art, doing somersaults, etc.  Even though I sometimes say, "MOMMA WANTS A LUNCH BREAK", I wouldn't change anything about my life right now.  Such a privilege to be a stay at home mom.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, Hebrews 12:28

4th of July II

The 4th this year was absolutely a blast!  Both girls loved the fireworks (even Rose!), and Grey thought the Wolfforth downtown festivities were the best.  The petting zoo was so much fun and the animals were extremely gentle.  She LOVED the pony ride, and didn't even need Daddy to help hold her.  My heart was FULL all day seeing such joy in our girls!  Grey had her first sparkler experience, and until she touched a spark, she loved them. :)  After a day PACKED with fun, we went home and bathed, and then drove to watch the Wolfforth fireworks from our car in jammies.  Best 4th ever.
Also, can I just say, Rose is the easiest going baby who just goes with the flow.  She was a trooper!

4th of July 2014, part 1 (and a catch up blog)

What is it with me blogging on FRIDAY!  Maybe I should just accept this and make it my new blog day.  Life isn't slowing down any time soon...so I am trying to be okay with late blogging for Rose's weekly blogs. 

Today is Rose's FIRST ever 4th of July!  We have had a great day so far.  We took the girls to the Lubbock parade, and it was the first time Grey actually LOVED a parade.  It was so special to see that.  2 is a great age! :)  Rose was skeptical and watched everything closely.  She never cried (even with the loud noises and sirens), but she didn't exactly "love" it either.  After an hour she was out in my arms.

I am going to attach photos in opposite chronological order from this past week, starting with a few from today.

 Picnics in the park every week have been a fun summer tradition for us!
Last Sunday before church (Grey wanted to wear her 4th dress a little early).
Sadly, the girls have both battled a nasty stomach virus (and drainage) all week long.  They've been in good moods despite it, for the most part, so we are grateful.  Nights have been long though, and we all haven't slept much in a week.  YAWN.  Thankfully we were able to see Auntie Carrie though on Monday.  She's the best nurse practitioner auntie!

And of course Rose turned 27 weeks on Monday as well.  Sweet princess is getting very mobile and even though she hasn't felt good all week, she's been talking more and more.  Such a precious little personality we are blessed to get to know more and more. 

We are heading to Trey and Carrie's house this evening for BBQ and fireworks.  I'll post more pics asap! (Meaning next Friday, ha!)
This week has been productive as we have worked a lot around the house and Chet is hopefully finishing landscaping the backyard this weekend.  We will need to wait for another paycheck to purchase my flower pots and flowers though.
