In her "white onesie" and an adorable outfit Mrs. Jackie with Sugar Lillies made us (complete with a bow that fits). It's Murphy's Law around here that as soon as we put the camera away, Grey is in the BEST mood. Like her Momma, she doesn't enjoy photo shoots...I claim what I can get with this "Daddy's mini me". These are what we got. Oh well. :)
[The top photo shows the one birthmark she has, on her thigh. It's a teeny tiny strawberry birthmark, and I think it's so cute!]

At 1 month, you can:
- Wear newborn clothes.
- Lift your head up for about 30 seconds at a time. Your neck is getting much stronger, and you lift your shoulders and head up a lot lately.
- Respond to voices and sounds. I was away at a baby shower for several hours yesterday, and when I got home, you heard me and grabbed my face and pulled it towards yours; one of my favorite mommy moments yet.
- Hold your pacifier and bottle by yourself. You have a strong independent personality, and have gone through entire feedings holding your own bottle. Yes, my baby is growing up so fast!
- Smile a lot! You especially smile when you're sleeping, which I like to think means you are having sweet dreams. :)
- Eat up to 3 oz. per meal! Just a week ago we were measuring your meals in cc's. Wow.
We weighed Grey this morning on our home scale. (The home scale that I bought about 10 years ago at Wal-Mart for $15...so we are not betting on its accuracy. That and said scale seems to be saying that I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks...certainly it's wrong, right?! ha!) Any ways, on this scale she weighed exactly 6 pounds. I am guessing it is probably pretty close to accurate with Grey, because she definitely feels and looks 6+ pounds now!
Just a month ago we were anxiously waiting for her 5pm c-section time to arrive. My head was filled with a million thoughts.
Just a month ago our hearts were filled to the brim when we heard Grey's first cries.
Just a month ago we were folding preemie diapers down and folding sleeves on preemie outfits. I am in a time warp.
A few days ago I visited Holden's gravesite. I thanked God for both of our children there, as I know it has taken the past two years to make it to today. My heart still hurt to think of my firstborn and how much I missed him. Grey has not replaced her brother, but she has certainly given us restored joy. I see a lot of Holden in Grey, and that makes me so happy. I think she will soon be chunky just like her brother too.
We love you, beautiful! Each day with you is a reminder of His faithfulness.
For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Psalm 57:10
What a blessed little girl to have a mommy who documents her life so well -- because she knows her baby so well! Just as I know Mommy and Daddy feel pretty blessed to have Grey! So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteSarah, I am SO SO thrilled you for! Grey is just precious.
